Web-tex Warrior Waterproof Notebook

Bought this from Amazon to use if I needed to while out coaching. Always thought it would be a good think to have either in the buoyancy aid or in the kayak to be able to record stuff about students and assessments. It goes without say that to be useful in a kayak the notepad needs to be waterproof.

The front of this notepad has “Writes underwater” and “Tearproof grid lined pages” printed on it. Can’t vouch for whether it actually writes underwater but I can say that it is not tear proof, especially when wet. The paper the pad is made from does seem to be water resistant but its far from waterproof. When wet (and when dry) the paper does tear. However it needs to be torn rather than just falling apart as soon as it gets wet like a normal piece of paper would. Once wet, the paper does go soggy but it is still possible to write on it, although it is much more delicate and will tear far easier than when dry if your not careful.

Given chance to dry out, the pages in the book don’t stick together like a normal notepad would and although you can see that the pages have been wet, the notepad has returned to a fairly normal, usable form.

My gut instinct is that its not as waterproof as the manufacturers claim. I can’t really make a judgement on it as I don’t have anything to compare it against except normal paper which it is clearly better than. Best judgement I can make is that it does seem to be fit for purpose but not so much so I will definitely buy another once this has been used.
